These are honorary pedestals dedicated by the Koinon of the Elimiotes\u2014a local political and administrative union of cities. The first honors Emperor Titus Aelius Hadrianus, known as Antoninus Pius, who ruled from 138 to 161 AD. The second honors his adopted son, Marcus Aurelius, emperor from 161 to 180 AD. <\/p>\n<p>These dedications offer valuable insights into the region\u2019s connection to the Roman Empire. The Koinon of the Elimiotes had its headquarters in a city founded after the abandonment of the Megali Rachi, where the ancient Aiani was located.
