In the prominent display case 6, the contents of the burial 162 are presented. This was the grave of a young woman, and it contained a wealth of personal and ritual objects: earrings shaped like lion heads, a ring, vessels, and a small box for storing jewelry, inside which were beads made of different materials. <\/p>\n
Especially notable are the animal anklebones\u2014knucklebones\u2014from sheep, used in games played in antiquity. A bronze coin, placed in the deceased’s right hand, represents Charon\u2019s obol: the traditional fare to pay the mythical ferryman who transported souls across the river Acheron to the Underworld. <\/p>\n
