The program begins with a thematic guided tour of the Archaeological Museum of Aiani, focusing on artifacts related to ancient clothing, including:
Clay weaving weights, spindles, needles, and spools. Ancient jewelry and depictions of garments on female figurines. Students observe a functioning vertical loom replica to understand how fabrics were created.
Hands-on Workshop After an audiovisual presentation about ancient clothing, students engage in activities using the program’s museum kit, which includes:
Fabrics resembling chitons and himatia (cloaks). Jewelry replicas and materials for crafting. Students dress in ancient-style clothing and participate in a role-playing activity, simulating life in the marketplace of ancient Aiani.
