In the prominent display case 6, the contents of the burial 162 are presented. This was the grave of a young woman, and it contained a wealth of personal and ritual objects: earrings shaped like lion heads, a ring, vessels, and a small box for storing jewelry, inside which were beads made of different materials.
Especially notable are the animal anklebones—knucklebones—from sheep, used in games played in antiquity. A bronze coin, placed in the deceased’s right hand, represents Charon’s obol: the traditional fare to pay the mythical ferryman who transported souls across the river Acheron to the Underworld.
Also displayed in the same case is a pigeon figurine, which comes from a different burial.
